SOF Week and AUSA: Where the community shows up

Event Coverage · Photography · 2026

A few days, once a year

Defense events are short. For a few days a year, people who rarely share a room end up under one roof: commanders, operators, engineers, allied delegations and the industry that equips them. When the doors close, the moment is gone, and the only record left is the one somebody made.

That is why it matters who holds the camera.

SOF Week, Tampa

Every May, U.S. Special Operations Command and Global SOF co-host SOF Week at the Tampa Convention Center. The 2026 edition drew 25,418 people in person, from special operators and partner nations to the companies that build for them.

We covered the keynotes, the show floor and the quiet conversations in between.

AUSA, Washington

Every October, the Association of the U.S. Army brings its Annual Meeting and Exposition to the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. AUSA calls it the largest land power exposition and professional development forum in North America. In 2026 it ran from October 12 to 14.

Senior leaders on the main stage, soldiers in the aisles, new hardware on the floor.

Why it matters

An institution's credibility is built in rooms like these. The photographs that come out of them become the record of what was said, who was there and what was shown. They keep working long after the badges are returned, in press, reports, recruitment and partnerships.

We work these rooms the way we work in the field. Quiet, credentialed, aware of what can and cannot be shown, and focused on the people rather than the logos behind them.
